A Dance with Lady Death

The lunar eclipse happening this week, on a beautiful full moon that is lighting the night sky already, asks me to dance with Lady Death. I have been thinking of death, not necessarily as the loss of life, but as the inevitable transformation that change requires; the night before the day, the fire before a seed is born, the breaking of the waters before life is born. ⁣

I strive to surrender with tenderness to this graceful dance, carried by the waves into whatever needs to come. Fate is a dance with death and life, and as I step into vulnerable waters, I must let go of resistance with grace (current mantra).⁣

We are taught that death brings more death, yet do you ever think the night won't turn into day? We fear being transformed without knowing exactly how that will look like, yet we are constantly transformed whether we want it or not. ⁣

Trust is a conscious relationship with the unknown, as Esther Perel wisely reminded me yesterday morning. ⁣

To think of death as an ending before a beginning is to accept that with every ending there is a lesson, a birth, it is an embrace of the inevitable life/death/life cycle we are constantly moving through. In this acceptance, love can plant its roots.
